Some date changes to the social calendar

Due to fixtures and other events we have moved around some of our social events.

The pavilion lunch due to take place on the 24th of November has now changed to Saturday the 17th of November. This will take place prior to the mens 1sts game v Fingal. Rob Johnson will be in touch with further details.

The next change in that the curry night hosted by Ravi will now be brought forward to the 24th of November, taking over the place of the Christmas party. Ravi hosted a delicious and very successful authentic Indian night last year and due to its popularity we are repeating it this year. It will be used as a fundraiser for the mens trip to Budapest for the European Indoor competition.
Places will be capped at 50 for food but all are welcome later in the night for a Bollywood movie and some music.
Please contact Ali Keogh at ladies.captain@threerockrovershc.com to book a place for food

Lots on for all in the club this weekend

This Saturday sees a jammed pack schedule of matches and social occasions in the club.

The ladies 1sts kick off the front pitch action at 12.30 in what could be a tough game against Hermes 2s. They are followed by the mens 1sts who are taking on Glenanne for the 2nd time in a month in the 1st round of the Irish Senior Cup. The ladies 3rds will finish off the day against Our Ladys at 4.45.

The back pitch is starting early with the mens 5ths taking on rivals Pembroke at 11am. The 4ths will also do battle with Glenanne at 2pm, while the ladies 4ths will follow them with a 3.30 game against Trinity.

Rachel Sterling will be manning the kitchen all day providing a range of food and snacks for players and spectators who wish to hang around.

Once all games are over, Julie Garvey, Grace O’Malley and Claire Fitz will be taking over the clubhouse to run this years cocktai party. Tickets are €15 in and include 2 free cocktails. Music will be provided. Its always a great night and is a fantastic way to finish off a busy (and hopefully successful) day.

Hope to see everyone there!

All in Three Rock would like to wish last years club captain Anna Carson all the best in her new job in London.

Anna is well known in the club for her role as ladies club captain but also as a player on the ladies 1sts side for the last number of years. She left early this week to take up her new role. We would like to thank her for all her work within the club and wish her the best of luck.

Don’t forget annual event on the 13th of October!

This years annual cocktail party will be held in the club on Saturday the 13th of October. Julie Garvey, Grace O’Malley and Claire Fitzpatrick are taking on the role of hosts for the 2nd year in a row.

They will be offering two free cocktails for your €15 in. The bar will be open and there’ll be music all night.

It promises to be a great night as usual. Hope to see everyone there!

Club gives unusable kit to other countries

The club recently carried out an inventory of old clothing. We discovered that due to changes in kit sponsors and remaining sizes, that most of the stock remaining would not be suitable for use within the club. We teamed up the European Hockey Federations Get and Give program and were put in touch with Mladost Hockey Club in Croatia. Following a few hours of sorting we now have three boxes ready to send in the next few days.
We also have a box of small children’s clothing that will be sent to Africa with the help of Gilmour Sports.
