News for this weeks concerts

TRR have joined together with Heineken for the upcoming Marlay Park concerts.

On Thursday 10th July we will have a bar in car park with a burger van (weather permitting) for the Macklemore & Ryan Lewis concert from 2pm. The outside bar is a Heinken on Draught only bar.

We will have the same in place for Saturday 12th July for the Arctic Monkeys. If the weather goes against us on Saturday the clubhouse bar will be opened. Once again, Heineken on draught only will be supplied outside.

For Longitude festival (18th-19th July) we will be using the clubhouse bar area.

Pop up if you have tickets prior to going in, or simply come up and enjoy some of the music from the comfort of the clubhouse!

News re this years event

The committee originally scheduled the SuperCup to run this year on the 5th-7th of September to follow up on last years success.

As people may be aware the LHA Div 1 mens fixtures have been brought forward this year to begin on the 6th of September. Due to the work going on with the front pitch it is not possible to bring the SuperCup forward for this year. For this reason unfortunately the decision has been made to cancel this years event.

The committee plan to return the event better than ever in September 2015

Winners and news of this years event

35 braved the weather at Woodbrook Golf Club on Friday last. The Crampton Webb Trophy was won for the first time by Gary Laird and Dave McFarlane. Both Gary and Dave playing off 14 handicap had 39 points and won on a count back from Willie and Avril Haughton. Liam Canning and Dylan Shirley came in 3rd. One of the highlights was Gaz’s Eagle / Birdie start – unfortunately as the pre match pints began to take their toll, so did his score… Eric Bradshaw was given an award to mark his 28 years as the Hon Golf Secretary. Many thanks Eric for your hard work, and many thanks to David Haughton for organising this years event

Congrats to club member Daphne Hall as she completes her IHA presidency

Our cub President Ailis Kennedy was on hand at the IHA AGM to commemorate club member Daphne Halls term as IHA President.

Daphne has filled the role of President of the IHA for the past two years, and has completed the term with enthusiasm and poise. For those attending IHA events they will know Daphne was never far away, be it inter pros, cup finals or internationals.

She has been a credit to the IHA and indeed TRR and we would like to congratulate her on her years of work.

School book scheme, Internationals, Golf outing, Vets Fest, Clubhouse development

Work in clubhouse
The pitch is not the only thing being updated in the club as we are currently undergoing refurbishments within the clubhouse! New toilets and radiators have been fitted, while the walls are plastered and ready for paint! New lights and carpet will also be installed, as will new furniture. Between it all, there is plenty of reason to look forward to the return of the season already as we aim to ensure the facilities and environment of our club continue to be some of the best in the country.

Internationals
Well done to Mitch Darling and Stephen West who are currently away with the Senior Mens team in Spain. They are part of a 20 man squad taking part in a 4 nations tournament along with Spain, Russia and Wales.

So far the lads have beaten both Russia (5-3) and Wales (1-0) and are due to play hosts Spain on Friday. Best of luck in the last game guys

Vets fest
The ladies vets team (over 30s) is looking for some extra bodies for their team to play in next weekend vets fest. You are not required to make yourself available all weekend if its not possible. Games are at 10am and 13.45 on the 24th, and 12, 13.45 and 16.30 on the 25th. The tournament is always a huge success and great fun. Please contact Siobhan Madeley if you can play.

School Books
Opening Minds Educational is offering members a chance to give 5% of the purchase of their childrens schoolbooks, back to Three Rock Rovers.

Opening minds have been supplying schoolbooks in the Ballinteer area for over 16 years, previously trading as Wise Owl. They have devised a scheme whereby local clubs and societies can earn 5% cash back on all purchases made by club members in their branch in Supervalu Ballinteer

All that is required from the club is that all members are asked to purchase their school books in opening minds so that a rebate can be paid to the club. When making a purchase the member should mention the scheme and obtain a duplicate receipt which is returned to the club. At the end of September the club will add up the receipts and inform Opening Minds of the total spent by club members in Opening Minds Ballinteer.

They will then pay 5% in cash of that total to the club. For example, 100 members spend €100 each on schoolbooks in Opening Minds Ballinteer over the summer of 2014. That equals a total spend of €10,000, €500 of which will be rebated to the club.

Their schoolbook prices are the same as in any other shop and they also sell and purchase second-hand school books.

Golf Outing
Please don’t forget to register for our Annual Golf Outing on July 4th in Woodbrook Golf Club. The form to register is attached at the end of this page.
