Wishing all our members a peaceful Christmas

Now that Santa has visited the juniors and the Christmas jumpers were out on show last Saturday night, its officially the Christmas break for the majority of our members.

All within the council and committee would like to extend our warmest wishes to our members for the Christmas period. We hope you have a peaceful, and happy time, and a wonderful New Year.

We hope everyone has a good break but is looking forward to the return of hockey already! The second half of the season will be packed with activity as we have plenty of cup 1/4 finals lined up, the club dinner on March 21st, hosting the Leinster Senior Cup finals, scores of league games, the vets fest, and of course, the EuroHockey Trophy all still to come!!

We look forward to seeing everyone in 2015.
Merry Christmas and a very happy New Year

Results from Dec 13th. One final league game for mens 1st before Christmas now on Tuesday

It may not have been a Friday, but the 13th of December wasnt the luckiest of days for the senior side of the club.

The morning frost played havoc with fixtures around Leinster, with many Rovers teams falling foul of the weather too. The mens 2s, 3s, 4s and 5s were all called off, as was the ladies 2s and 4s.

Indeed only 3 games on the senior side went ahead, all against YMCA. Christmas cheer ended up with YM for the most part as they came away with wins against both our mens and ladies 1st, beating them 2-1and 1-0 respectively. The ladies 3s however were victorious, coming out as 3-1 winners.

Thankfully the weather was fine for Sunday and Santas visit to the junior Christmas parties! Over 100 children came and with the help of all our volunteers and TY students enjoyed afternoons of games and sweets. Many thanks to all who helped, including Siobhan and Grace, for rounding up the volunteers! Earlier in the day the u16 girls drew 1-1 with Mount Anville

For the senior side of the club, the weekend finishes the first half of the season with a bit of a stutter as most of our teams look forward to the Christmas break. The one remaining fixture is the mens 1st game against Rathgar, which has been brought forward from Saturday to tomorrow night at 8pm at home.
