This weekend, Saturday and Sunday 29th & 30th of April, our Men’s 1st XI team play in the semi final of the EYHL Champions Trophy semi-final in Three Rock. The lads play Lisnagarvey at 5pm in HQ with a place in the EYHL final and potentially an EHL spot up for grabs. It would be great to get the whole club down to support the lads after an incredible regular season, as they are on an 11 game win streak, missing out on the league title by 3 goals. The Lisnagarvey contingent is guaranteed to be in strong voice and numbers. The final takes place in Three Rock at 5pm on Sunday.

Rockets on tour
The Rockets are representing us this summer at the Eurohockey Parahockey tournament run in conjunction with the Senior Europeans in Amsterdam! This is a life changing event for some of our kids and we cant wait to cheer them on over there. To help them fundraise for this event we have a fundraising page which we would appreciate if you could share amongst friends and family. https://www.myclubfinances.com/memberships_cart_m.asp?LL_ID=981&intMF_ID=2786#wizard_example
We are always looking for volunteers to help coach this group so please contact shivmade@msn.com if you can give any time to their weekly sessions over the summer. Also, keep an ear out for our group on Morning Ireland during the week! We were listed this Tuesday by the programme to showcase the team, their coaches and their parents! Link to follow next week
Big congratulations to the Men’s 2nd XI team who beat Railway 5-1 last weekend to win the Railway Cup, bringing to an end an incredible season for the team, with just one loss and one draw all year! Congratulations to all.
The Men’s 1st XI play Instonians at home on Saturday 22nd April in their final league game of the season. The team have already secured a semi final position for the finals weekend the following week in Rovers, and go into this game with a chance of winning the league and securing a place in Europe. The team will be led out by the Three Rock Rockets on the day, and all support for the lads would be appreciated.
This year we are hosting not only the EYHL playoffs but also the Champions Final Four weekend in HQ. The playoffs weekend takes place April 22nd-April 23rd and sees teams vie for an automatic promotion into the league next season. Lurgan, Trinity, Alex, Greenfields and UCC will be competing in the women’s section, with Corinthians, Annadale, Cookstown and Bandon in the men’s. The final four weekend takes place the following week (April 29th and 30th) and sees the top four men’s and ladies teams in the league playoff for a spot in Europe for the final winner. Our own men’s 1st XI will likely take part in the weekend looking to win their spot in Europe that we last had in 2015, and an EHL spot that we haven’t held since the first year of the top European competition.
As usual we are looking for volunteers for the event. The most important weekend to fill spots for is the final four weekend due to the expected crowds. We need volunteers to collect money at the gate, steward the stands and help with car parking. All volunteers will get free entry for the day that they help out, and we only ask for two hour slots to be filled.
We are known for hosting tournaments but we cannot do it without volunteers as we are expected to run all aspects of the weekends ourselves. Please contact club.manager@threerockrovershc.com to sign yourself onto any of the slots in the attached document
Three Rock Rovers HC has started a ParaHockey team for children and young adults from 14 upwards. All children and young adults with Intellectual Disabilities are welcome to join. Please contact Siobhan Madeley – shivmade@msn.com.
The main aim of the club is to make hockey more inclusive, and to create a pathway for all our players. So if your child has an Intellectual Disability they should be able to join our club from the age of 9 with our mainstream kids. When the hockey gets too competitive or is a little beyond their level then they will join the Rockets team! So it should be a fluid pathway in hockey.
Rockets hockey takes place on Tuesday evenings from 6.30/7.30 and the kids learn the basic hockey skills as well as learning how to warm up and play in a team. We are delighted that from the very start Osaka (a hockey brand, owned by an ex-Irish International player now living in Belgium) came on board with us providing sticks for the kids, so we could start! Our Rockets are Powered by Osaka
This year our team will be travelling to the Euro ParaHockey Championships in Amsterdam from 20/24 August. Here at this event our Rockets will represent Ireland and will be the first Irish ParaHockey team to take part in these Championships. Listen to our journey here thanks to Morning Ireland:
