Both the men’s and Under-14 sides won Leinster indoor titles following a super Sunday on the boards.
For the men, they won back the Leinster indoor title from Corinthian with a superb 7-3 win in the final this evening at St Columba’s having earlier beaten Portrane in the semi-final 8-1.
In the final, captain James Walker gave us the perfect start with an early goal from play but two yellow cards in the first quarter meant it was all hands to the pump for this phase, Harry MacMahon making an incredible stick-block and Stephen O’Keeffe making key saves to keep the narrow lead.
Ross Canning doubled the lead from a corner for a 2-0 half-time lead and Walker made it three early in the second half. Corinthian fought back, getting the next two goals to make it 3-2 but Luke Madeley settled nerves with a sharp corner goal; 4-2 going into the last quarter.
A brilliant team goal from Canning and a corner to complete his hat trick was complemented by Jody Hosking’s goal into an unguarded net for an unassailable 7-2 lead. The reds did get one back late in the contest but Rovers stayed out of sight to win the trophy.
The side now advance to the National Indoor Trophy finals stage in two weekends time where they will look to defend the title and earn a return trip to Europe.
Special shout out to Simon Montgomery and Stephen O’Keeffe who won their first indoor adult silverware with Three Rock.

There, they won a thriller against Corinthian 3-2 to win the title for the sixth time since 2014!
Well done lads and to the management team of Liam Walsh and Ian Cox for all their hard work!
