The Rockets are Back! TRRHC is delighted that our ParaHockey ID team, aka The Rockets, are back training!

A huge effort was put in by Siobhán, Hannah and Scott to prepare for the safe return of The Rockets. 10 of our 12 players enjoyed ‘social distanced’ hockey, with a tonne of relays to ensure that everyone was kept busy, including coach Amy, Zoe, Scott and Hannah.

Siobhán has taken on the role of Covid Officer for ParaHockey this year, so a big thanks to UCD Men, our own Men’s 1sts and the umpires Ali and Bruce, for being so co-operative ahead of their game.

The directive from Hockey Ireland is no games at ParaHockey training (for the moment), so our coaches had a challenge to find the joy! We ended the session with a new version of ‘Duck duck goose’ – using our sticks to try and catch the goose around the ‘circle of trust’.

We are delighted with the start and we look forward to getting fitter and improving our skills, but mostly we loved seeing our hockey pals and once again being back at HQ and playing our part of what makes TRRHC the perfect hockey family club.

The Rockets train on Tuesdays between 18:30 – 19:30 on the front pitch at Grange Road. If anyone knows someone who would like to join – contact Siobhán Madeley on 0879066379.
